Headshot of Attorney Matt Lloyd

Attorney Matt Lloyd

Matt joined the Lloyd Law Office in 2003 after graduating from law school. His practice involves motor-vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Matt believes in providing personal attention to all his clients.

He earned a B.A. degree in economics, with honors, from Centre College in 1998 and received a J.D. and M.B.A. in 2003 after completing a joint program at Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law and the Kelley School of Business.

“The ‘personal touch’ is a theme of our practice,” he says. “We’re never going to compete with the mega-firm factories that promise the world to get the sign-up and then don’t really care what happens with the client after that. We give it a more personal touch—a more involved approach to each case and each client.”

“I like helping people who otherwise get pinched by the big insurance corporations with their armies of lawyers,” he says. “Most of my clients are folks who don’t have a lawyer living down their street and oftentimes have never had any kind of need for a lawyer.”

“I really like to go up against insurance companies and those with all the cash,” he adds. “It makes me feel good when I go home at night, knowing that I’ve helped.”

“I think that genuineness and being authentic are what works in court better than anything. If jurors believe you and believe you’re trustworthy, that can get you far. If they believe you as a person and think you’re genuine, then they’re going to take care of you with their verdict in your case.”

Apart from work, Matt loves spending time with his wife and three young sons, fly fishing, and woodworking. He is a member of national, state, and county bar associations, the American Association for Justice, and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted in all Indiana state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Headshot of Attorney Bill Lloyd

Attorney Bill Lloyd

Bill Lloyd is a retired attorney who has enjoyed a long and satisfying career serving his clients, his community and the citizens of Indiana.

He has received his undergraduate degree, with distinction, from the Indiana University School of Business in 1964 and then combined studies for a law degree and an MBA from Indiana University, receiving his J.D. in 1967 and his MBA a year later.

He began his legal career by clerking at a Bloomington law firm.

After getting his J.D., Lloyd joined the Ferguson law firm and became deputy prosecutor for Monroe County.

In 1972, Dr. Otis R. (Doc) Bowen was elected Governor, and Lloyd was selected to join his administration as an Executive Assistant, serving as the liaison between the Governor and other agencies. He remained in the job for almost five years.

Lloyd launched his own law firm, and his son, Matt, joined him in 2003. He has maintained his focus on personal injury law and he has found all this experience has been very satisfying.

“One of the real pleasures I have at this stage is knowing all of the insurance-company strategies for claim denial and how to navigate a client through those successfully,” he says. “It really is satisfying when you can at least be a good part of the answer for clients. It’s enjoyable to think that you’ve actually done something to be of help to them.”

“Once we have an Attorney-Client relationship, we look upon it as a lifetime of being on call,” he says. “It’s not just ‘do the case and it’s over’ because we help families solve a variety of concerns.“

He is an active community contributor who believes in giving back to the society. He is a volunteer counsel to the Brown County Community Foundation, has created the Environmental Leadership Fund.
